This conference will be held on January 17th at 17:00. The location is Salone d’Onore, Castello del Valentino. It’s curated by Tomà Berlanda and Camillo Boano, with the support of Collegio di Architettura & Design.

DAAR, led by Sandi Hilal and Alessandro Petti, is a research practice at the intersection of architecture, art, pedagogy, and politics. Over two decades, they have undertaken projects that combine theoretical depth with practical activism for justice and equality. Their work transforms art exhibitions into platforms for action, influencing architectural designs, critical learning spaces, civic engagement, and political reimaginations.

DAAR's contributions include challenging dominant narratives, creating civic spaces, and redefining concepts tied to decolonization in Palestine and Europe. Their efforts have earned them accolades such as the Keith Haring Fellowship in Art and Activism at Bard College and the Golden Lion for Best Participation at the 18th International Architecture Exhibition - La Biennale di Venezia.

This event is paired with the open conversation held on the same day.
