“Adivasi issues in contemporary India: identities, resistance and environment”

V Edition
4-8 JULY 2022

In response to the growing interest in India in the era of globalisation, the Department of Culture, Politics and Society of the University of Turin is pleased to announce the fifth edition of the Summer School on “Politics, Development and Social Change in Contemporary India”.

Through an interdisciplinary approach, the School provides students with an extraordinary opportunity to analyse key political, social and cultural issues of contemporary India. Important recent trajectories of social change – as well as continuity – will be explored, encouraging critical reflection among students.

This year’s edition will run from Monday 4 to Friday 8 July 2022 and the programme will focus on Adivasi people in contemporary India: identities, resistance and environment.

The working language is English and participation is open to students and professionals willing to broaden their knowledge and explore crucial dynamics currently unfolding in the subcontinent.

The School’s teaching staff brings together internationally distinguished scholars for a week of lectures and workshops.

Applications are now open and welcome until the 30 May 2022.
