We are pleased to announce that the partners of the EIT Community New European Bauhaus will host 6 Hackathons, with the ambition to develop innovative solutions in response to the main challenges facing communities and urban centres in Europe. At the Italian level, the NEBathon - NEB4Cities - is organised by the Department of Management of the University of Turin and will take place, from 20 to 22 October, at SAA, School of Business Administration, via Ventimiglia 115, 10126, Turin.

If the planet is racing towards climate neutrality, it is in urban areas that the transformation will begin to take place. According to the United Nations, cities produce more than 60% of global CO2 emissions, but they are also places in turmoil, involving a variety of stakeholders in the fight against climate change, with beautiful, sustainable and inclusive innovative actions and solutions.

The New European Bauhaus at a glance
Turin is one of 9 Italian cities selected by the European Commission as pioneers in the EU Mission 100 climate-neutral and smart cities by 2030, to achieve zero impact by 2030, and will act as ecosystems of experimentation and innovation, supporting all others in the transition to climate neutrality by 2050.

NEB4Cities is a hack-and-learn competition, aiming to promote innovation in urban areas by engaging students, recent graduates, PhD students and post-docs in a process of designing and redesigning CIRCULAR SOLUTIONS for CITIES. The event, which will be entirely face-to-face and will have an international scope, intends to foster the emergence of innovative and entrepreneurial activities, based on the core values of aesthetics, sustainability, and inclusion, and with a multi-level, transdisciplinary and participatory approach.
